Alocasia azlanii is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, native to the state of Pahang in Peninsular Malaysia. It is a relatively newly discovered species, having been described in 2019 by a team of botanists led by Dr. Ong Poh Teck.
Alocasia azlanii is a small to medium-sized plant, typically growing to around 30-40 cm in height. It has distinctive dark green leaves with a metallic sheen and white veins, and the undersides of the leaves are a deep purplish-red. The plant produces a spadix with yellow flowers, which are surrounded by a white to pale green spathe.
As a relatively new species, Alocasia azlanii is not yet widely cultivated, and it may be difficult to find in nurseries or plant shops. However, it is likely to be of interest to collectors and enthusiasts of the Alocasia genus, and its striking appearance and rarity make it a prized addition to any plant collection.
