Swiss cheese plant, also known as Monstera deliciosa, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae. It is native to Central America and is commonly grown as a houseplant for its attractive large, glossy leaves with holes or splits (resembling Swiss cheese), which give it its common name. Swiss cheese plant is a fast-growing climber that can be trained to grow on a support or left to trail. It prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining soil, and can be propagated by stem cuttings or division of the root ball.
